The book project 8X's has been nominated for the following award
as part of Next One photography festival in Essen, Germany, 17-22 May 2010.
Steidl Book-Prize
For the first time this photobook prize will be
awarded, offered by Steidl Publishers to support young photographers. It does
justice to the importance of the photobook as a medium which by now plays an
important role as a means of artistic expression. Ten professors at European
universities and colleges have each nominated one book project by a student who
graduated no more than two years ago. The nominees will be invited to show
their designs at a presentation on 21 May in Essen. The prize is the
realisation of the winning book by Gerhard Steidl / Steidl Publishers. A jury,
consisting of two university professors, Ute Eskilden, Kerstin Stremmel, and
Gerhard Steidl, will announce its decision on 22 May, as part of next 1.
